. >>> we begin with breaking news out of daly city. police and emergency crews on the scene of an apartment complex off interstate 280 not too far from the city's chinese christian cemetery. "today in the bay's" marla tellez is live in daly city with more on details that are going on right now. marla, what's the latest? >> reporter: well, laura, police are being extremely tight lipped. i just spoke to an officer as he made his way out of his patrol car here. i said can you tell us what's going on? he said i know nothing. that's the way this is being handled. we're waiting for more information from daly city police. a press release supposed to be issued at any time. this is off 280 off hickey boulevard on imperial way. it came in as some sort of a shooting or a stabbing. here's what we can tell you at the height of it there were plenty of police officers, ambulances on scene. at one point our photographer captured a person being carried away on a stretcher. we also got shots of a white sedan inside the parking garage here and in the front driver's seat you can see blood stains on the driver'

daly city with more. monty? >> reporter: good evening. you cannot just walk into the cow palace and walk out with a gun. that's because here in califoia there's a ten-day waiting period. there are, however, no such restrictions on ammunition. i've seen quite a few people walking out with large boxes of ammo just within the last hour. people lined up here, some of them as early as 4:00 a.m. to get into the annual event at the cow palace called the crossroads of the west gun show. gun show organizers claim they had triple the number of people here compared to last year. we have not been able to verify that, but it's fair to say the turnout here was large and the lines during the day were very long. now, as congress looks at a possible ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, there is already such a ban on assault weapons here in california. still the owner of the gun show says the big turnout this year is being fueled by a fear that the nation's gun laws may change in other ways in light of the tragedy in newtown, connecticut. >> the politicians are attempting to figure

see daly city there. no fog to report. a very rare occurrence, especially this time of year. we are also going to see temperatures today unseasonably warm for the final day of january. 10 to 15 degrees above average in some cases. that means 68 in san jose. 70 in santa cruz. rounding out the week with wonderful, comfy conditions. on saturday and sunday, temperatures are going to come down just a touch. into the mid to low 60s, monday into tuesday, staying comfortable. then the rain moves in on wednesday. but next week, that's right, marla, the men across the bay area will finally emerge from their man caves. i'm looking forward to it. >> i'll be emerging from the same place as well. >>> we finish up here going back to the 49ers and their quest for six and a story that warms marla tellez's heart. jimmy fallon making the call for the super bowl. >> take a look. >> you have to pick who's going to win the super bowl. are you ready? 32, hut, hut! not all at once. all right. not all at once. >> unfortunately, they went for the ravens although they're adorable puppies. you are wrong. >

tellez. a daly city father is in surgery right now after he was stabbed by his son early this morning. police say the two got into an argument at the crown colony kond mcondominium condominiums. the son stabbed his father several times and his son suffered some sort of head trauma. police say the father called 911 from his own cell phone. >> the officers responded to the scenened a they saw that the dad had multiple stab wounds and the son had some type of trauma to his head. we're not exactly sure where he was stabbed yet. we think it was a knife, but i can't confirm that. b . >> both were taken to the hospital and are expected to be okay. police are processing the evidence they found inside this white car parked at the complex. some of that evidence, blood found on the driver's seat. >>> one of the murder suspects accused of silling a silicon valley businessman is now facing a judge today. 21-year-old deangelo austin being arraigned for allegedly taking part in the murder of ravi kumra. prosecutors seance along with two other accomplices killed kumra and beat his wife in monte seren

right here in the bay area this morning. a gun show in daly city is now the focus of people on both sides of that issue. up to 10,000 people are expected to crowd into the crossroads of the west gun show at the cow palace this weekend and they can expect to be greeted by plenty of protesters. the show includes more than 150 vendors selling everything from guns and ammunition to knives and jewelry. crossroads officials say attend absence at their shows across the country has roughly doubled in the last few weeks over concern that congress and the president are about to approve stricter gun laws. the gun show's owner bob templeton was one of those discussing the issue with vice president joe biden earlier this week. >> we'd like to see mental health issues addressed, we feel we need more community help, resources, those are the things we think need to be addressed before we go down the slippery slope of gun control. >> we talked with sean richards who started brothers against guns in san francisco bay view after his brother was shot and killed in 1995. that group is just one of many e
